Production Technician (Sweden)

SPM Instrument in Strängnäs develops, manufactures, markets and sells advanced equipment for condition monitoring of machinery. Your role

For our production technology department, we are looking for someone who has a genuine and broad interest in technology and wants to drive continuous improvement. You will develop, support and streamline the entire production process, working with production preparation, costing, documentation, test systems and production equipment, among other things.

You will contribute your technical expertise to development projects aimed at bringing new products into production. You will be involved in driving improvement projects related to our processes, machines and equipment. You will also be involved in evaluating new working methods and motivating new investments in machines and equipment. Ongoing technical support and training of our staff in the production departments will be part of your daily work. Cost-effective production is an important aspect of our future success, which means that various types of automation, such as robotisation and test systems, will be part of your daily work. Therefore, you will be programming such systems and equipment in your work. There are also tasks involving firmware loading, testing and configuration programmes.

You will be part of a production engineering team of four people and report directly to the Head of Engineering & Quality.

Your profile

You have relevant education and/or several years of work experience in the field. You have experience working with documentation, writing instructions and CAD drawings. You also have experience building structures and calculating in MPS systems. You have at least basic programming skills and have previously worked with test systems. You speak and write Swedish and English fluently. Our production mainly consists of electronics assembly and cutting/CNC machining, so we would like to see that you have experience in one of these areas. You should have a positive attitude and be service-oriented and socially competent to succeed in the role.

Qualifications and knowledge we value

  • Experience working in MPS (Monitor G5), Office, CAD, Sharepoint

  • Good understanding of drawings

  • Basic knowledge of electrical engineering

  • Cabling knowledge

  • Soft soldering equivalent to FSD 5115 /IPC J-STD-001E

  • Machine knowledge; robotisation, automation, CNC

  • C# programming

  • LabVIEW

  • ATEX Directive

  • LEAN

Location

The position is based in Strängnäs, approximately fifty minutes by train from Stockholm Central Station, with good commuting options from other locations in the Mälardalen region.
