Technical Writer (Sweden)
For our in-house department in Strängnäs, Sweden, we are seeking an experienced Technical Writer who is interested in working long-term on producing and structuring technical documentation for advanced industrial products and systems.
Please note: This is an on-site position based at our headquarters in Strängnäs, Sweden. The role requires regular office presence. Please apply only if you are able to work on-site in Strängnäs.
About the role
As a Technical Writer at SPM Instrument in Strängnäs, Sweden, you serve as the link between development and users, working on the creation, maintenance, and further development of technical data sheets, manuals, instructions, and context-sensitive help systems for both hardware and software within industrial condition monitoring.
You develop, structure, and maintain technical documentation in MadCap Flare and coordinate translations using MadCap Lingo and DeepL. The work is carried out in close collaboration with developers, product owners, and other Technical Writers to ensure a high level of technical accuracy and linguistic quality.
The role entails long-term responsibility for the documentation structure and guidelines that govern our approach to documentation. You contribute to developing effective working methods, enhancing workflows, and ensuring that our technical information remains consistent, user-friendly, and sustainable over time. Your communicative skills help keep critical industrial equipment in operation and maximize efficiency in processes worldwide.
Your profile
Apart from being based in Sweden, we are seeking a Technical Writer with several years of experience who thrives in a role with clear ownership and long-term responsibility. You have a solid technical understanding, a strong interest in language, and the ability to make complex information clear and accessible to different target groups.
You communicate fluently in both Swedish and English, verbally and in writing, and have a relevant university degree or equivalent professional experience.
Requirements
Experience working as a Technical Writer
Very good command of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
Experience with structured technical documentation in a modern documentation environment
Meriterande
Experience with translation workflows, MadCap Lingo, and DeepL
Knowledge of MadCap Flare, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
Interest in illustration, film, or animation
As a person, you are analytical, structured, and quality-oriented. You are quick to familiarize yourself with technical contexts and are comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. You take initiative, plan and prioritize your work effectively, and are curious about developing both content and working methods. Attention to detail and a strong sense of accuracy are essential components of your professional role.

The Marketing & Information department currently consists of five team members who work closely together in an international environment. The department supports our subsidiaries and distributors globally with marketing material, product information, and technical sales support. The position is a full-time role at our headquarters in Strängnäs, approximately 45 minutes from Stockholm Central Station.
Start date: As agreed
Location: Strängnäs, Sweden (on-site)
Scope: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Employment type: Permanent position, with a possible initial probationary period
